As many of you know, Minecraft has been around for over 17 years and during that time millions of accounts have been created. However not all Minecraft accounts are equal. Some own incredibly rare capes and others have legendary usernames and a few date back to the very earliest of the game. But what actually makes a Minecraft account rare?
Well to answer that question, there are number of things that make a Minecraft account rare such as having rare capes like the Minecon capes, the Mojang cape and the Cobalt cape, which are either hard to obtain or no longer obtainable. Another thing that makes Minecraft accounts rare is the Rare and OG usernames, that only have 3 or less letters as you can no longer create Minecraft accounts with 3 letters as all the combinations are taken. For instance 3 letter users include Dog, Cat and Fox, while random words include Sword and Frog, which sell for hundred of thousands of dollars. However if you combine these 2 things together for example the account "Red", who all has the Minecon capes and a rare username, they can cost for even more dollars averaging around 700k today.
This shows, how obsessed and infatuated the Minecraft community is with rare accounts, as some are worth close to a million dollars today. However does the account holder know its "rare", or is it the Minecraft community deciding it is? Well in my opinion it's the community interest that truly makes these accounts special. Rarity doesn't come from the account itself, it also comes from how other players value it. For instance the values that make up an account includes its exclusion and owner of the accounts reputation to the public. Therefore its evident that the Minecraft community decides the account is rare. For example just log onto the HIVE and when you ever see a 3 or less username or cape, the chat goes CRAZY!!!!
